Man accused of killing family members over 20 years ago

OTTAWA COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - An Ottawa County man accused of killing his sister and brother-in-law more than two decades was in court Wednesday.

Police say Ryan Wyngarden murdered his sister Gail Brink and her husband Rick at their Park Township home in 1987. Prosecutors say that Wyngarden may have killed his sister to hide a previous sexual relationship between them.

Investigators were finally able to make a break in this cold case a few months ago when Wyngarden's wife came forward and told police he was the killer.

Wednesday a judge will decide if there is enough evidence to send him to trial.
