4 Killed in Van Buren County Crash

HARTFORD TOWNSHIP (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Crews are investigating a deadly crash in Van Buren County. It happened just before 6 p.m. at the intersection of CR 687 and 66th Avenue in Hartford Township.

Deputies say four people were killed and two were rushed to the hospital.

Right before the accident took place, all three vehicles were headed to a two-way stop from three different directions.

Deputies say the driver of the van had a stop sign and blew through it. The van then broadsided a white car heading south. That white car was then thrust into the opposite lane and hit a red pick up truck head on. All four people in the white car were killed. We do not know their names. Deputies confirm they are from the area, and their ages range from their late 30's to 50's. Two people inside the truck were rushed to the hospital.

The sergeant tells Newschannel 3 weather likely played a key role in this crash.
