State to issue licenses to undocumented immigrants
LANSING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Starting this week illegal immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as children can apply for Michigan driver's licenses and state ID's.
Secretary of State offices will begin accepting those applications Tuesday.
To be eligible immigrants must prove they arrived in the U.S. before they turned 16 and that they are 30-years-old or younger.
They also have to show they've been living in the U.S. for at least five years and are going to school or have served in the military.
