Two headed to jail for damaging headstones

CASS COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Two Cass County men are headed to jail after damaging dozens of headstones in a southwest Michigan cemetery.

23-year-old Clayton Warren of Marcellus and 19-year-old Enos Butrick of Dowagiac were ordered to pay $17,000 after damaging 76 headstones at Riverside Cemetery in Dowagiac back in December.

The two were also sentenced to 270 days in jail, but Butrick received credit for 81 days he had already served.

Both men have since apologized for the vandalism.
