Suspect in Van Buren County murder case heads to court

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Ten years after the crime, a suspect in a Van Buren County murder case is on the way to court.

33-year-old Ray Barry was arrested last December, and he stands charged with the 2002 murder of Christopher Green.

Investigators say the 19-year-old from Bangor was killed in December of 2002.

His body was found in a roadside ditch in Geneva Township.

Police say the two men got into a fight and Barry stabbed and hit Green with a blunt object.

In Thursday's hearing, a judge will decide if there is enough evidence to send Barry to trial.

Newschannel 3 will be keeping an eye on the case, and we'll let you know what the judge decides.
