River expected to reach 2 feet above flood stage

ROBINSON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Folks are keeping a close eye on the Grand River Thursday morning in Ottawa County's Robinson Township.

An ice jam is causing water levels to rise and run over the river banks.

The river level is expected to reach 15 feet Thursday morning, nearly two feet above flood stage.

It could go even higher before receding over the weekend.

Some people have been forced to evacuate their homes.
