Lakeview Schools to integrate new security measures
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Lakeview Schools are among the first in West Michigan to upgrade security in the wake of several national tragedies.
In view of the Sandy Hook massacre, the Lakeview district is spending tens of thousands of dollars on security improvements.
They include new camera and buzzer systems, curtains in classrooms, and fencing on playgrounds.
Lakeview leaders are also thinking about remodeling school entrances to keep vehicles from crashing through school doors.
