Michigan receives grant to help feed hungry students

LANSING, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Michigan is once again getting a federal grant to help stop low-income students from going hungry.

It's called the Summer Electronic Benefit Transfer for Children Project. Through the system, the students get a food package valued at 60-dollars per month for June, July and August.

This year, more than 28,000 students will receive those packages.

It will benefit students in seven school districts including Grand Rapids and Kentwood area schools.
