Cookies for Caden

BLOOMINGDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Thinking outside of themselves.

It is not something most five and six-year-olds do often but a local girl scout troup is doing exactly that.

Daisy Troop 90676 is selling cookies for Caden. 2-year-old Caden Brown from Bloomingdale Township was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer in September.

Newschannel 3, talked to Caden's dad who is a volunteer firefighter for Bloomingdale Township, in October.

Jake Brown told us doctors think Caden's tumor has been growing since birth.

One of the girl scouts in Daisy Troup 90676 heard Caden's story and spread it to the other girls.

Now the girls plan to donate part of their earnings from their cookie sales this year to Caden and his family.

They have several cookie booths coming up at Bounceland in Kalamazoo:

  • Sunday 3/3
  • Sunday 3/10
  • Saturday 3/16
  • Sunday 3/24
  • Saturday 3/30

You can also e-mail gshom90676@yahoo.com with your cookie requests.

If you're trying to stick to your New Years Resolution the girls have you covered as well.

They will donate your box to their local food pantry.
