Driver's explanation for rollover crash fails to add up

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – A Bangor man is behind bars after his story for why he crashed his car on Friday just didn’t add up.

Van Buren County deputies were called out to the 6200 block of M-43 in Bangor Township around 5:30 pm Friday for a car that had overturned.

A witness told deputies that the 38-year-old man behind the wheel had been driving erratically, crossed the fog line and ran off the road.

The driver was uninjured, climbed out of the vehicle and told police that someone had pulled out in front of him.

Investigation determined that did not happen. The man was arrested for drinking and driving.
