Search continues for missing Middleville man

MIDDLEVILLE, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The search continued this weekend for a missing man from Barry County.

Volunteers and police are still looking for 30-year-old Lucas Poll, who has been missing for more than a week.

They believe he's in danger because he suffers from a mental illness and doesn't have his medication.

All day Saturday, more than 100 volunteers concentrated on areas in Middleville and a few spots near Nashville Township, in areas they say Lucas was known to spend time.

Investigators say they're exhausting all options, and admitting that while there's a lot of hope, there's no strong leads.

Poll is considered very shy and doesn't like crowds.

Everything from horses to boats are being used in the search.

"There's a lot of woods and wetland out there; a lot of rivers and swampy areas, and that's what makes it hard terrain," said Sheriff Dar Leaf. "And we've had airplanes go over, helicopters; we've had boats go up and down the river, the parts we could get to."

Police say while Lucas is shy and wouldn't harm you, you shouldn't approach him.

If you see Lucas Poll, you are advised to call police right away.
