GRPS to require uniforms for students
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Some big changes are on the way at Grand Rapids Public Schools.
Starting this fall students will be required to wear school uniforms.
The board of education made the announcement Monday night.
The uniforms will be required in all elementary and kindergarten through 8th grade schools this fall and will eventually be required in the high schools by 2015.
The board also laid out the plan for the new school boundaries with 10 of the district's schools slated to close.
