Visitation for apartment fire victims

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Family and friends will remember three young children killed in a tragic apartment fire in Kalamazoo.

The visitation for 3-year-old twins Tevin and Te'niya Williams and their 1-year-old sister Ty'onna Henderson is from 5:00 to 7:00 Friday night.

It will happen at Whitley Memorial Funeral Home on North Westnedge.

A funeral service will take place Saturday at noon. That will be at Mount Zion Baptist Church.

The children died last Monday when fire broke out in their apartment at Interfaith Homes.

Investigators released new information about the cause of the fire Thursday. They say it was accidentally started on the first floor in the living room.

At this point they're still trying to figure out how it started.

Another question that remains unanswered is why were the kids left alone. Family members tell us the mother's boyfriend, Fred Glespie, was supposed to be watching the kids but he says that's not true.

Glespie claims he was at his sister's apartment in the same complex that day. He tells Newschannel 3 he ran to the store to grab something and when he came back he saw the smoke and flames and tried to rescue the kids.
