Wal-Mart bomb threats expand
COURTLANDVILLE, N.Y. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A Wal-Mart bomb threat hoax expanded Sunday morning.
Overnight, another bomb threat forced an evacuation at a Wal-Mart, this time in Courtlandville, New York.
On Friday night, two West Michigan stores fell victim to the hoax, in a problem that appears to be spreading across the country.
The threats go back as far as July, when someone called in to 11 Wal-Mart stores in Missouri and Kansas.
The threats were robo-calls, which featured a voice saying there was a bomb in the building and that officials had two hours to get everyone out.
It is not known whether the people behind those threats are the same ones behind the threats that have evacuated shoppers inside Wal-Mart locations in Grandville and Holland Township.
No one was injured in the West Michigan incidents.
So far, no explosives have been found in any of the cases we've seen.
