Pennfield Twp. pleads with Governor to fix Mich. roads

PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Leaders in Pennfield Township are pleading with the Governor to come up with a way to fix Michigan's crumbling roads.

Last week, the township passed a resolution claiming the state is losing $3 million per day due to maintenance costs, and increased wear and tear on roads and bridges.

The resolution also claims that one-third of all fatal and serious traffic accidents can be linked, in part, to poor road conditions.

It's urging the Governor to work with lawmakers to raise the money necessary to fix the roads to save taxpayer money and lives.
