New food item set to debut for Battle Creek Bombers

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - There's a wacky new option on the menu this summer at a Minor League ballpark in West Michigan that's gaining national attention.

The Battle Creek Bombers are set to debut a Twinkie Dog, and it's exactly what it sounds like.

They cut a Twinkie in half, stick a hot dog in the middle, and top it with whatever you want.

The ball park says they spent the winter brainstorming and taste-testing some innovative new foods for the summer crowds.

Ideas like the Honey Bun Burger and Fried Kool-Aid did not make the cut.

The Twinkie Dog, however, is here to stay--for this season at least.

Love it or hate it, the front office wants to know what you think.

The Bombers are offering free tastings to the public, now through March 30th, at the Bailey Park Office in Battle Creek.
