GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Grand Rapids Fire Department will now have the opportunity to improve operations and safety.
Senators Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow announced a $248,000 grant for the fire department.
The grant comes from FEMA's assistance to firefighters grant program.
The program helps local fire departments across the country acquire equipment and vehicles and pay for training to help increase their emergency preparedness.
