Calhoun Co. man takes plea deal in manslaughter case
BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A Calhoun County man took a plea deal Monday in his manslaughter case against a neighbor.
27-year-old Shane Medley was found dead in his backyard on Westbrook Avenue in Emmett Township back in April.
Police say he'd been punched in the face after a fight broke out with his neighbor, Jason Horn, following a night of drinking.
Monday, Horn pleaded guilty to attempted manslaughter and was recommended probation instead of jail time.
