Family reaches out for help after father of twin boys found dead

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A family is reaching out, asking for help for 6-year-old twin boys.

Their father, 26-year-old Jayme Earle was found dead inside a pickup truck in Kalamazoo last Thursday.

Jayme's parents say the last time they saw him was Tuesday night. When police found him dead inside his truck on Thursday, it had two parking tickets on it.

Despite that, police say they aren't sure when or how Jayme died.

As Earle's family looked through photos of Jayme, they were understandably overcome with emotion.

"No parent should ever lose a son," said Jayme's father Joseph Earle.

On Thursday night, Kalamazoo Public Safety officers discovered Jayme's body inside a truck in the Stuart neighborhood, but they still aren't sure how he died.

For Jayme's brother Joe, saying goodbye has been difficult.

"He was a charismatic guy; he was a character," said Joe. "He really was, and me and him were very tight."

For now, though, the family is focused on Jayme's 6-year-old twin sons, and is hoping to raise money to care for them.

His father says Jayme worked two jobs to support the boys, but with him gone, they've now set up a website asking for help.

As his parents struggle to explain what happened to Jayme's sons, they prepare to say goodbye to their own.

"He's an angel. He touched a lot of lives; he's a very special man," said Jayme's mother, Carrie Whalen. "I couldn't ask for a better son."

Police are still awaiting toxicology results to try to determine the cause of death.

Jayme's funeral is scheduled for Thursday.
