Michigan, Michigan St. have day off after advancing Thurs.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Spartans and Wolverines both survived and advanced Thursday, and now both teams have a day off on the road to the final four.

No. 3 seed Michigan State handled 14th seeded Valparaiso, while the 4 seed Michigan Wolverines took care of business against a game 13th seeded South Dakota State Jackrabbit team.

Now, the teams are resting up and getting ready for their next opponents.

Michigan State will take on a Memphis Tiger team that survived a last-second scare from 11th seeded St. Mary, while Michigan will entertain a VCU club who crushed 12th seeded Akron 88-42.
