Clarification on an earlier story

We would like to clarify some information we reported last month on a story involving the rape charges in Pennsylvania being dropped against Grand Rapids firefighter Lee Finlayson. 

In that story, we reported that prosecutors in Beaver County said that evidence provided by Finlayson’s accuser, Diane Guthrie, was fake…. and that prosecutors were trying to determine whether or not to charge Guthrie for providing false evidence. 

This information was provided to us by another news source and did not come directly from the Beaver County Prosecutors Office. Yesterday, we spoke to Beaver County District Attorney Anthony Berosh, who tells us that even though the charges against Lee Finlayson have been dropped, they have not determined if any evidence in the case was fake. 

District Attorney Berosh says that the matter remains under investigation.
