Police await autopsy results in suspicious death investigation
VALLEY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Police are waiting for autopsy results in a suspicious death in Allegan County.
Investigators tell NewsChannel 3 the case could soon turn into a homicide investigation, as they work to determine the cause of Jody Snyder's death.
Snyder's body was found Saturday night in a home on 122nd Avenue in Valley Township.
Investigators say they believe foul play was involved but could not say why.
Snyder, his son and his grandfather all lived in the home and were in the process of being evicted by their landlord Kurt Conley.
Conley says he was questioned by police for nearly three hours following the discovery of Snyder's body.
NewsChannel 3 also spoke with Snyder's son, who tells us the loss of his father is still sinking in after his aunt called him with the news.
"I didn't know what to say. She thought I hung up or something,” Seth Snyder recalls. “He was more like a best friend than a dad."
The Snyder’s neighbors say they didn't see anything suspicious Saturday night.
Police are expected to release more details on the investigation Monday afternoon.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
