Vigil for woman missing for nine years

MARSHALL, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Family and friends will remember Mary Lands nine years after her disappearance Tuesday.

They're holding a vigil at 11:00 Tuesday morning at Brooks Memorial Fountain in Marshall.

Investigators have spent more than 17,000 hours looking for Lands after she allegedly walked away from her home on this date nine years ago.

Her family believes she was the victim of domestic violence.

Lands was legally declared dead in 2011. Her family is still hoping her body will be discovered and her killer will be brought to justice.

They hope Tuesday's vigil will generate new leads in the case.
