Former school security guard accused of impregnating student
KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A former security guard at Loy Norrix High School was in court Wednesday over criminal sexual conduct charges.
Investigators received a report that a 17-year-old from Kalamazoo had been the victim of a sexual assault by a 20-year-old Kalamazoo Township man.
The Kalamazoo County Prosecutor says that Anthony Williams is accused of sexually assaulting the teen at his apartment. She became pregnant from the assault.
Investigators say that the assault took place while Williams was employed as a security guard at Loy Norrix High School. The victim was a student there.
Judge Paul Bridenstine says that Williams was charged with third degree CSC because he used his status as a security guard to gain access to the teen and used force or coercion to have sex with her.
Williams faces one count of CSC 3rd degree, which is a felony. He faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
Williams surrendered to police Wednesday morning. Officers say he is cooperating with the investigation. He is currently out of jail on bond.
Williams next court date will be on Sept. 10th.
