Charges sought in Kent Co. hit-and-run crash
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - There is an update to report in the case of a hit-and-run crash out of Kent County.
The Sheriff's Department says they received several tips since Friday's crash, leading them to several suspects.
It happened around 5:30 p.m. on East Beltline Avenue in Grand Rapids.
Deputies say a 21-year-old woman was riding her motorcycle with another cyclist when a car switched lanes and struck the side of her motorcycle.
The impact threw the woman off the bike, and the driver of the car took off.
Deputies later found a similar car in a parking lot near Burton Street and Breton Avenue, and were able to link it to the crash.
They then found and interviewed several people believed to have been in the car.
The case has been sent over to the Kent County Prosecutor's Office for criminal charges.
