No contest plea for one driver in U.S. 131 business loop crash
KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - One of the two drivers accused in a chain reaction crash that killed two people in Kalamazoo Township has pleaded no contest in the case.
Margaret Robinson is charged with committing a moving violation causing death. Back in November, police say another woman, Kari Braley, was driving drunk when she missed a curve on the U.S. 131 business loop and crashed into the median.
Minutes later, police say Robinson missed that same curve and plowed through the original crash scene. Brittany Despins and Trevor Stuck both died in the chain-reaction crash. Robinson faces up to one year in prison. She's scheduled to be sentenced next month.
