Man with history of DUI convictions arrested again for suspected DUI
LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Sheriff's Deputies say a man with a history of convictions for operating while intoxicated has been arrested again for suspected DUI after he is caught passed out behind the wheel in Van Buren County.
According to Sheriff Dale R. Gribler, Deputies were dispatched to the 49 mile marker of westbound I-94 early Sunday morning for a vehicle that was parked in the travel lane of the freeway.
When Deputies arrived they located a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee parked in the travel lane, with its engine and lights turned off.
Officers say that the driver, 41-year-old Jose Robles-Guzman from Hartford, was found unconscious in the driver's seat.
Deputies were able to wake him and determined that he was highly intoxicated. Deputies did an affidavit for a blood search warrant and pursuant to the search warrant the operators blood was drawn.
Upon further investigation Deputies determined the suspect had six prior convictions for operating while intoxicated and is currently on probation for operating while intoxicated 3rd offense.
Robles-Guzman's operators license was currently suspended in the State of Michigan.
He was arraigned in court Monday with a $50,000 bond.
