State Police investigate fatal Kent Co. crash
KENT COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Michigan State Police are investigating a crash in Kent County from Tuesday evening, that left a Grant woman dead, and two victims injured.
It happened on M-37, west of Peach Ridge Avenue in Tyrone Township at just before 7:00 p.m.
According to State Police, a blue Chevy Trailblazer, driven by 22-year-old Ashley Doyly of Grant, was traveling northbound on M-37 when it crossed the center line and struck a southbound Ford pickup truck head-on.
Ashley was pronounced dead on the scene.
Her passenger, Alexandria Kidd, also of Grant; and the driver of the truck, Paul Whitney, of Bailey, were both transported to Butterworth Hospital with serious injuries.
Witness reports indicate that the Trailblazer drifted slowly over the center line and sideswiped another car before striking Whitney's truck.
At this time, the crash remains under investigation.
