Police: Boy, 13, bails out of stolen vehicle
MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. (AP) - Police in western Michigan say a 13-year-old boy bailed out of a stolen car as police pursued him, causing a crash into a home.
The Muskegon Chronicle reports the vehicle crashed in Muskegon Heights on Sunday. It was stolen Saturday evening from a Wal-Mart in Muskegon County's Fruitport Township. Authorities say the teen is being held at the Muskegon County Juvenile Transition Center
Police say surveillance video from the store showed two people walking past the car a number of times before getting into the vehicle and driving off. A vehicle with the same license plate number as the stolen vehicle was spotted Sunday and chased.
No serious injuries were reported. Police say the teen was on tether at the time for a previous breaking and entering charge.
