Vigil remembers slain Sturgis businessman
STURGIS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) Friends, family and community members are gathering to remember a beloved West Michigan businessman who was shot and killed earlier this week.
A candlelight vigil honoring David Locey began an hour ago, at Free Church Park in Sturgis. This comes days after Locey, a 70-year-old accountant, was found dead inside his office Wednesday morning.
Newschannel 3 cameras captured the solemn scene as the Sturgis community began to line the streets in support of the Locey family. Mrs. Locey said she shared her husbands "light" with her children, grandchildren and community during Saturday night's vigil.
A former employee, 36-year-old Andy James Brown, is the prime suspect in this case. Brown is also accused of embezzling $100,000 from Locey. At this time, Brown has been charged with embezzlement but not murder.
