WEST MICHIGAN (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Several West Michigan communities are splitting up a huge state grant to protect their water systems.
The money is part of the Wellhead Protection Program. It's meant to help communities protect groundwater from contamination.
Battle Creek is getting the biggest grant of $70,000. Kalamazoo is getting nearly $50,000.
Paw Paw will get more than $5,000 and Charleston Township in Kalamazoo County is getting $4,500.
