Young man in court in SW Mich. teen runaway case
PAW PAW, Mich. (AP) - An 18-year-old man in southwestern Michigan has been arraigned on misdemeanor charges of harboring two teenage runaways who were discovered 100 miles away at a migrant farm camp.
Orlando Jimenez appeared Friday in a Van Buren County court in Paw Paw. Bond was set at $1,000.
A tip from a farm owner led authorities to the girls, age 13 and 14, in Oceana County on Thursday, a day after they were last seen at Lawrence High School in Lawrence. Police say Jimenez is the boyfriend of one of the girls. Police believe he picked them up at a park.
A message seeking comment was left with his lawyer.
