St. Joseph Co. commisisoner pleads guilty to disturbing the peace
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A St. Joseph County Commissioner has plead guilty to disturbing the peace.
Police say 52-year-old Donald Eaton was drinking when he brought a handgun into an Applebee's restaurant in Sturgis in July.
The prosecutor says Eaton had a permit to carry a concealed weapon and was never arrested.
A preliminary breath test showed his blood-alcohol level was .15.
As part of the plea, the prosecutor agreed not to pursue a charge for Eaton of carrying a weapon with a blood-alcohol content of .02 or higher.
Eaton was sentenced to pay $200 in fines and ordered to surrender his pistol.
