Local second-hand store gives back for the holidays

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A local second-hand clothing store was able to give back to the community for the holidays.

Second Impressions Upscale Thrift Store held a massive free clothing giveaway.

Around 500 people lined up for the event.

Each person was able to pick out five pieces of clothing at no cost.

The store also gave children wrapped books, candy, and beanie babies.

"The people coming in were very courteous, they didn't argue or fight over anything, they were very generous, they were thankful, and we appreciate it; it was a blessed time for us," said Second Impressions co-manager Ed Muller.

This is the third year Second Impressions has held the event, and managers tell Newschannel 3 that Wednesday's turnout was the biggest they've ever seen.
