LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY

UNTIL 9 PM

The National Weather Service in Grand Rapids issues a LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY for Oceana, Muskegon, Ottawa, Allegan, Van Buren, Kalamazoo, Berrien, Cass, and St. Joe counties until 9 PM.  2" to 6" of snow are possible on northwest winds of 15 to 20 mph bringing lake effect snow bands near and across US 131, at times.  Some locations will see more than 6", especially closer to Lake Michigan.  Roads are slippery and become more tricky once the sun sets.

Trial begins for man accused in fatal Quick Stop shooting

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The trial is underway for a West Michigan man accused of murder at a Kalamazoo gas station.

Police say Clarence Ross Jr. shot and killed Jheryl Wright at the Quick Stop on Portage Street back in September of 2012.

Investigators say Ross filed to Atlanta, where police caught up with him in January.

If convicted, Ross faces up to life in prison.
