Traffic stop leads to marijuana bust in VBC

VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Deputies say a traffic stop in Van Buren County ended up with the bust of a marijuana grow operation.

Van Buren County Sheriff Deputies stopped a vehicle for a equipment violations and vision obstruction in the 54000 block of CR 687 in Hartford Township Thursday afternoon.

During the course of the investigation Deputies say the 33-year old male driver had 25grams of Marijuana in the vehicle.

After additional investigation Deputes determined that there was an additional quantity of marijuana at a residence located at 67000 Territorial Road, in Keeler Township. 

Deputies went to the residence and conducted a consent search which revealed 3.5 lbs. of marijuana and 10 plants.

The case has been forwarded to the prosecutor for review. No arrests have been made at this time.
