Poll: Americans optimistic for next year

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A new poll shows that Americans are ready to ring in the New Year with a sense of optimism for the year ahead.

That's according to the Associated Press-Time Square New Year's Eve Poll.

The poll shows that Americans are rating their experience in 2013 more positively.

But when they were asked to assess the year for the United States or the world at large, things turned sour. Only 32-percent say 2013 was a better year than 2012, while 46-percent say they were about the same.
