K-Wings hockey team getting into holiday spirit

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Kalamazoo Wings hockey team is getting into the holiday spirit.

K-Wings players have already given toys to the Boys and Girls Club, and Thursday, they continued giving.

With the help of mascot Slappy, players and head coach Nick Bootland visited the Children's Hospital at Bronson, handing out teddy bears.

Nearly 1,200 stuffed animals were collected at last Friday's annual Teddy Bear Toss at Wings Stadium.

Some were also donated to the Salvation Army.
