The National Weather Service in northern Indiana issues a HIGH WIND WARNING in Berrien county until 11 PM for 60 mph, or higher, wind gusts.  65 mph gusts have already been confirmed in Michigan City.  

A WIND ADVISORY remains for nearly all of West Michigan until 2 AM.  45 mph to 55 mph gusts are likely and have already verified.  Downed tree branches and some power outages are possible.  The wind direction is from the north, and winds will easily be sustained in the 25 to 35 mph range.

Philanthropist and businessman Bill Wright dies

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - NEWSCHANNEL 3 has confirmed Bill Wright has died in Florida. Wright founded the Wright for Kids organization and is the former face for the Seelye Automotive Group.

Wright was known as an ambassador for abused and neglected children, starting Wright for Kids and raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Community Healing Centers.

In a statement released Saturday night, Kalamazoo Mayor Bobby Hopewell writes; "Bill has been a great friend of mine and to the community. Its a sad moment. He'll be greatly missed. He was a great friend and mentor who cared about the city and kids, and you can see that through all of his work. He leaves a big hole in this city."
