More information released in death of Kalamazoo businessman

LEE COUNTY, Florida (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Funeral arrangements are set to honor Kalamazoo businessman and philanthropist Bill Wright.

Deputies in Lee County, Florida have released the report on the investigation of Wright's death.

They were called out to his Fort Meyers house Saturday afternoon to check on him. When they got there they found Wright lying on the floor in the kitchen.

They began CPR until first responders arrived and took Wright to the hospital where he died.

The results of an autopsy won't be finished for several weeks, but friends tell us he died from heart failure.

"He did great for the community, all the people he touched and I think they felt like I felt about Bill. If I needed something, I could call Bill and he'd help me. And there were people all over the community who feel like that," said friend Curt Wiser.

A "Celebration of life" service is planned for Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Family Valley Church in Portage. "Bill Wrights last lap" will follow for those who want to participate. All are welcome.
