(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - For the 10th year in a row, wood shop students at a West Michigan high school are helping families in need this holiday season.Students at Thornapple-Kellogg High School put on Santa's Workshop Thursday night.They made 20 rocking toys to give to deserving families in the district."It teaches the kids more about giving back; it's not about Black Friday specials, trampling people for big screen TV's, it's about giving back," said wood shop teacher Matthew Melvin.This year, the students gave away their 200th toy.They hope to keep the project going for many more years.
