Intoxicated suspect arrested for break-in

LEE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Deputies in Allegan County responded to a home in Lee Township early Wednesday for a break-in.

The homeowner called police after her alarm went off when her front door was forced open.

The woman and her daughter locked themselves in the bathroom. She said she heard what sounded like two men talking inside her home. Her kitchen door slammed and someone tried to enter the bathroom in which they were hiding.

The woman yelled for the men to leave. The suspect, who sounded intoxicated, said he didn't know where he was.

When deputies arrived the men were gone. They located a suspect down the street who told them he thought he was in his own home. Officers say he was intoxicated.

The man was arrested for breaking and entering and possession of a small amount of marijuana. A second suspect was not found.
