Software engineer makes art with wind patterns
TOKYO (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A Tokyo-based software engineer has turned the Earth's wind patterns into a trippy piece of art.
In an interactive map simply dubbed "Earth" you can see swirling colors that show wind.
It's updated every three hours with data from the U.S. National Weather Service's Global Forecast System.
Green indicates gentle breezes, yellow shows strong winds and the strongest winds show in red and purple.
You can zoom in and out to see wind patterns all over the world.
