W. Mich. Army nurse one of 5 chosen for special honor

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A West Michigan Army nurse is one of only five in the nation who was selected for a special honor.

Shelley Aurand graduated from Western Michigan University earlier this month, but instead of going right into active duty, she's getting a special scholarship to continue her education to become a psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner.

Aurand was selected because of her intellect, and her passion for the Army Nurse Corps and health care.
