KPS votes to renew school tax

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - According to M-Live, the Kalamazoo Public School's Board of Education is asking voters to renew a $1.5 million countywide school tax in May.

The board voted unanimously Monday night.

To appear on the ballot the proposal has to be supported by school boards that collectively represent 51 percent of students in the Kalamazoo Intermediate School District.

Portage trustees are expected to vote on a resolution next week.
