AAA Mich. reports 5,800 calls in 12 hour span overnight

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - AAA Michigan says they've helped at least 2,200 drivers who have been stranded by the snow and cold over a 12-hour period.

A spokesperson says the calls came from all over the state between midnight Monday and noon Tuesday.

AAA handled 5,800 calls during that time.

Problems included dead batteries, cars that slid off roads into ditches, and people who were locked out of their cars in the bitter cold.
