DENSE FOG ADVISORY

Until 10 AM

The National Weather Service issues a DENSE FOG ADVISORY for all of West Michigan until 10 AM.  Fog may linger in some locations until midday.  Light winds, ample moisture near the ground are encouraging the formation of dense fog.  Because temperatures are near freezing, a light coating of ice may form on some road surfaces making them slick.  Please keep it safe this morning as you head back to work and school.

Poll: Americans have little faith in government

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A new poll shows Americans are starting the New Year off with very little faith in the government.

The Associated Press NORC Center for the Public Affairs Research Poll says a whopping 70-percent lack confidence in government's ability "to make progress on the important problems and issues facing the country in 2014.".

The poll also shows Americans have little hope elected officials can or even will solve the nation's biggest problems.

Half of the country says the government needs a lot of changes or a complete overhaul.

The news has been consistent for years. Past polls show Americans who believe the nation is heading in the right direction hasn't topped 50-percent in nearly a decade.
