35 percent feel they have been bullied at work

(NEWSCHANNEL 3) - It seems like workplace bullying is taking its toll on workers, but when it comes to fighting it with legislation, lawmakers are falling short.

More than 35-percent of employees feel they've been bullied at work according to a study from Careerbuilder in 2012.

But Fortune Magazine says legislation proposed in 25 different states have all failed to become a law.

It seems unless someone is targeted for their sex, race, disability or religion, being mean is just not against the law.

However, that doesn't mean you should have to put up with it. Experts say talk to your human resource department or boss if you feel you're being bullied.
