Battle Creek volunteers help out at Binder Park Zoo

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek also took part in Monday's MLK Day of Service.

About 30 people showed up to the zoo to help honor the legacy of Dr. King, focusing on areas like the wolf box, some prairie dog huts and a hay platform.

Volunteers also sanded and painted rooms inside the zoo's veterinary hospital.

Binder Park Zoo also says they appreciate the help of volunteers in the winter because they usually have less staff on hand than during the summer.
