Teacher killed in crash to be honored

HAMILTON, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Friday night students at Hamilton High School will honor their teacher who died in a car accident late last year. 

On December 4th police found 30-year-old Josh Hoppe's car pinned under a semi-truck.

The accident happened on M-40 south of the I-196 Interchange.

Hoppe was pronounced dead at the scene.

Friday night the Hamilton High School basketball teams take on Wayland Union. Girls start at 6:00 the boys follow at 7:30.

Any current Hamilton High School student who attends the game will be given a free Hoppe T-shirt. During the boys game extra T-shirts and wristbands will be sold.

Following both games everyone is invited to do the "Happy Hoppe Dance."

All proceeds from the event will go towards Hamilton high school's Close Up program.
